2 Timothy 3:1–7 warns us of the end times. The Authorized says "silly women." We today must stand against "silly men" who hate the truth and are overflowing with iniquitous sin. Men who revel in their abominations, and wear their debauchery as a badge of honor, and shake their fist at God and would kill His messengers. We do not stand with swords and spears, but with truth and righteousness, and the Gospel!
These silly women and men are carried away by every wind of doctrine, but we stand fast in true Doctrine and Theology. we are grounded in it.
Sound Doctrine and Theology have a purpose, we see it in progressive sanctification, which only is given, by God the Holy Spirit, through faith, to the true Christian, 1 Corinth 2:14; Hebrews 11:1-3.Progressive Sanctification is inextricably linked to sound doctrine and theology.
How does it operate, function, and work in the lives of those whom God has seen fit to expose to true truth.
Sound doctrine and Theology rips apart every single thing you have ever said about God, thought about God, believed about God, hoped about God, or wanted about God. It exposes the believer to his own inability, and crushes them under all truth about himself or herself. All the things you have ever dreamed of or hoped for yourself and your family. All the things you have ever wanted for your children.
Every thing you have ever thought about concerning what is right and what is wrong. Everything that you have ever though in regards to what is good or bad and what is acceptable and not acceptable. Every thing you have ever thought that were noble and true and virtuous and righteous. Every thought being held captive to Christ.
