Dan 11:5 And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
The King of the South was Ptolemy I, who ruled over Egypt. The prince who became strong was one of Ptolemy's officers named Seleucus Nicator. Seleucus became the King of Syria.
Dan 11:6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
In order to bring peace between the Northern and Southern kingdoms, Ptolemy II gave his daughter, Bernice in marriage to the King of the North, Antiochus II, in 249 B.C. Wanting to have peace, Antiochus II put away his wife, Laodice, to marry Bernice but the marriage didn't last long. Upon hearing the news that Bernice's father, Ptolemy II had died, Bernice was told to pack her bags and go home. But wait…this soap opera isn't over. Because Laodice felt that Antiochus had not been faithful, she had him poisoned. Laodice then had Bernice and her son murdered.
Verse six was fulfilled perfectly! Dan 11:6 And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king's daughter of the south (Bernice)shall come to the king of the north (Antiochus) to make an agreement(marriage): but she shall not retain the power of the arm(She lost her role in the North); neither shall he stand (AntiochusII was poisoned), nor his arm: but she shall be given up(sent
