The Evangelical Vote

104

On today's program, we will turn our attention toward the political scene. There have been some recent developments over the last few days, such as the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency, hosted by Pastor Rick Warren.

Recent polls, as well as a number of Christian Blogs, seem to indicate that the Forum was a major turning point for John McCain's campaign. Many Evangelicals that I have spoken with or read their comments, seem to be much more comfortable with Senator McCain and increasingly more confident in his ability to win the election and lead the nation as President.

During the first portion of the program, I will play a pre-recorded interview I did a couple of weeks ago with former Christian Coalition Executive Director, Ralph Reed. Reed has worked on seven presidential campaigns and served as the Senior Advisor to the George W. Bush presidential campaign in 2000 and 2004. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Century Strategies - a relations and public affairs firm.

After listening to the interview we will be joined by Collin Hansen, Editor at Large for Christianity Today Magazine. We will discuss the recent political developments and the role the Evangelicals are playing in this year's election.
