Israel's Journey from Sinai
Series Numbers Sunday School
INTRODUCTION: Israel had been stationary at Sinai for quite some time and the day soon approached for them to move forward. Before the journey began, the Lord gave a few final instructions. The destination of this initial journey would be the wilderness of Paran. At this point, every step moved Israel that much closer to entering the land of promise.
I. THE TRUMPETS (Numbers 10:1-10)
II. THE OVERVIEW OF THE JOURNEY (Numbers 10:11-12)
III. THE ORDER OF THE MARCH (Numbers 10:13-28)
IV. THE INVITATION GIVEN TO HOBAB (Numbers 10:29-32)
V. THE DEPARTURE (Numbers 10:33-36)
CONCLUSION: This lesson once again demonstrates God’s attention to details. The people were to move forward, but not chaotically nor according to their own whim. Instead, they were to move forward according to God’s plans. The same holds true for our Christian walk, it is to be in accordance to God’s will.
