Joy During Short-Term Persecution - Part 1

This "song of degrees" is filled with security and assurance, but it is no advocate for "the prosperity gospel". Both biblical and secular history are replete with accounts which demonstrate that the godly are not immune to persecution or attacks. Whether the inspired author of this song was Hezekiah or some other once-embattled leader of Judah, it is plain that he was celebrating the victory of the long view - not the agony of a short-term frame in the battle of life.
