If election unto salvation was based on foreseen faith then it would be a reflection on the immutability of God. If God made choice of man's salvation dependent upon what man does, then the choice would be a change in God from "not knowing" to "knowing." Contingency upon foreseen faith presupposes a change in God, particularly in His knowledge and election because He could not elect until knowing that man would exercise his faith.
