The Danger of Forgetting

Moses warns the people of the second generation here of
the great danger to them if they forget what God has done for them and
the expectations of the covenant that He has made with them. The
sermon demonstrates that we too must constantly work at remembering
what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. It is this remembrance that
nourishes and increases our gratitude to give us motivation for our
obedience. We don’t do this so that we can stay in the new covenant,
we do this because Jesus is our mediator and keeps us in the new
covenant.
