To begin the plagues, God further hardens Pharaoh's heart through a sign (His Rod/Snake swallows the magicians' rods/snakes) that foreshadows His absolute victory through them. You are in a spiritual battle against the Devil. But the Devil has already lost the war. The LORD exhibits His absolute victory through all your moral battles. Through all your battles, Christ has given you His present victory. The battle belongs to the LORD.
