Exegesis: Blessed unbelief separates the Pharisees from the favored through the focus on the cross (v. 34) and the blessing of repentance (vv. 35-36). Blessed unbelief separates the living from the dead in accord with scripture's prophecies (vv. 37-38) and with God's sovereignty (vv. 39-41). Blessed unbelief separates the men from the boys. True believers are strong (in Christ) (v. 42) and are dead (to sin) (v. 43).
