Moving the Ark on a New Cart

God has a prescribed way of doing things. Nowhere is this more in view than in the example of Uzzah, who was smitten of God for ignoring the proper way to move the Lord's Ark of the Covenant. David's men replaced the old way of moving the Ark with men carrying it on staves with a modern innovation - a new cart - seemingly much better for moving such an item a considerable distance. But what seems best to men is OFTEN not what the Lord has commanded. It is no different in our time. Many believe that he way to move the church forward is to forsake the old way of church worship established in the New Testament (singing, praying, preaching, in simplicity) with innumerable innovations (instrumental music, multimedia presentations, light shows, fog machines, stand up comedy, stage plays and productions, cantatas, orchestras, rock bands, the list goes on and on...). But the Lord never commanded the use of these "new carts," neither are they needful to feed the flock of God from the word of God. The Lord's pattern needs no such "improvement" and His design stands in no need of "innovation." Come and see...
