A Song of Praise

Joshua 12 lists the kings God defeated as Israel completes the initial phase of the conquest of the Promised Land. This list of God's specific actions, king by king, territory by territory was an encouragement to ancient Israel. It served as a reminder of God's faithfulness, of His fulfillment of His promise and of His desire for His people to preserve the unity that He has established through the indwelling of His Spirit in every true believer. As it encouraged Israel then so too it encourages us today both individually and as the church.
