Gnosticism teaches that Jesus is not Divine in person, nature, or essence, but that He is a created spiritual being lesser than God and corrupted by being joined with flesh.
In Colossians 1 Paul teaches us that:
- Jesus is God - vs. 15a
- Jesus is Eternal - vs. 15b
- Jesus is the Creator - vs. 16
- Jesus is the Sustainer - vs. 17
- Jesus is Preeminent - vs. 18
