Simeon and Anna: The Watchman

Preached Christmas, 2003. Did Old Testament saints know of Jesus Christ? Were they anticipating his coming? Simeon and Anna were two of the very last saints of the old age. Luke records for us their expectation and longing to see the Messiah. And they knew him when he came. But these two believers were doing nothing more than standing in line of Isaiah's watchmen (Isaiah 52). One of the greatest monuments to our faith is the testimony of those many faithful who went before us, paving the way to the coming of Messiah. These are God's Watchmen.
