Law of Love and Liberty: Honor in the Family

Honoring others does not come naturally to us. Yet honoring others is foundational to society; human community cannot flourish apart from the order and respect that is incubated in families. The fifth commandment is in many ways a template for other relationships with authority we have in our lives. The family structure, by God's design, lays the foundation for all other forms of authority and obedience within society. All around us we see evidence that the violation of this commandment leads to chaos and the disintegration of community. Do you see it? It's no wonder the spirit of the age militates relentlessly against God's design for the family!
