If you’ve spent much time in a church, you’ve likely heard the story of the widow and her two mites . . . and it’s been in a sermon about giving. Perhaps you’ve even referred to that passage in Luke’s gospel to talk to someone about sacrificial giving. But is that what Jesus intended to talk about in that passage?
