SUMMARY: Although the prophecies of God's soon-coming judgment on Israel and His end-times judgment on mankind are compressed together, as type and antitype [i.e., shadow and fulfillment], in such a way that they are difficult to separate, the resulting message is relevant and powerful for readers in every age.

I. TYPE: CHRIST'S JUDGMENT UPON JERUSALEM (70 A.D.).

II. ANTITYPE: CHRIST'S COMING JUDGMENT UPON THE WORLD.
A. Decompressing the Prophecy.
B. The Future Coming of the Son of Man. After 70 A.D. the following are still to come:

1. “The Age of the Gentiles” (Lu. 21:24)
2. The Coming of the Son of Man (Lu. 21:25-27, Mt. 24:29-30)
3. The Last Judgment (Mt. 24:31-46)
