1689 Confession of Faith - 2.5

The Biblical doctrine of the Tri-unity of God should:

1st – Humble Us – into our proper place before our God.

2nd – Cause Us To Be Very Grateful – Jesus said, (Mt 13:16) “Blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear; for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not.”

3rd – Inspire Us With Greater Confidence and Assurance – our salvation is sure and secure because our God is a covenant-keeping God. The Father has chosen us... The Lord Jesus has redeemed us, and even now ever lives to make intercession for us... The Holy Spirit has made us spiritually alive and leads us to walk in the newness of life.

4th – Make Us More Earnest and Diligent To Study and Understand This Crucial Truth
