The Genealogy in the OT Preaching

Though not the most often memorized section of Scripture, this seemingly 'boring' chapter of insignificant names is glorious for those who see the true intent of the Spirit in Ezra 8.

From this text, we see 3 magnificant & extremely practical promises for us:

1. God has reserved for Himself a people in every generation.

2. God has reserved for Himself leaders in every generation.

3. God has reserved for His people a Hope in every generation (namely the seed, Messiah).

A very practical & applicable sermon, as the points easily show.

May we not despise the day of small texts, for all are inspired by the Spirit, and all point - in the larger context - to Jesus Christ, the 'yes' and 'amen' to all of God's glorious promises.
