Saved To Be Fruitful

The Lord has saved us in order to produce the fruit of Christ's character or the fruit of the Holy Spirit through us. Jesus Christ draws on one of the great images of God's love for His people in the Old Testament the Vine and the Branches to underscore the vital union that we have with Him.

It is through our union with Christ that God the Father does the good and loving work of producing the character of Christ in us. We are saved to be fruitful.
