Grace Filled Family

Just as we have heard that grace and forgiveness need to flow freely in our marriages, the same goes for our parenting and wider families. As we endeavour to raise our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord in this fallen world, as fallen, but saved children of God, our confidence is to be in the covenant love and grace of the Father, the fellowship and forgiveness of the Son, and the wisdom of the Spirit in our own lives, as well as in the lives of our children. They are His children before they are ours. We are to represent His Fatherhood to them, and also to teach and encourage them to look to Him for all things. And when, in our sinfulness, we do this poorly, we are seek forgiveness and demonstrate to our children where it is we can find grace and mercy in our times of need.
