Encountering Christ's Kingdom

Should we expect a new church plant to grow rapidly or slowly? Jesus provides several very helpful parables that answer this question. More broadly, how does the Kingdom of God grow? Jesus teaches that it is like a farmer who scatters seed and then sleeps. This helps us all set appropriate expectations for how Christ will usually grow His Kingdom.
