Three areas of the Spirit’s influence in Joseph:

I. HIS SUBMISSION TO THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD (1-15)

A. Our lives are a continual series of providential steps that God orders before us
B. It is our duty to trust God during these times

II. HIS SELFLESS GLORIFYING OF GOD (16)

A. Joseph understood that his chief end was to glorify God
B. “It is not in me” should be our constant confession

III. HIS SPEAKING THE TRUTH OF GOD (17-36)

A. It is the duty of God’s servants to bring others to a knowledge of the true God
B. Preach without fear
C. Preach with conviction
D. Preach with concern
