The Church (6)

In our study of the biblical teaching regarding the church of Jesus Christ, today we will begin to address the matter of the leadership of the local church. The Scriptures set forth only two offices in the local church, pastors and deacons. There is no biblical warrant for a hierarchy of “clergy” outside and above the local church. Every local church is to be self-governing, but lead by pastors and deacons.
