The Comfort of God's Justice

Paul encourages the Thessalonians with the twofold blessing of God's justice. Their suffering demonstrates that God is disposed rightly to them. Their suffering is also a reminder that their persecution will be avenged. The promise of God's justice is a reminder of the relief coming to believers and the destruction coming to persecutors of the gospel. In light of this, we can take comfort, and we should seek the salvation of our persecutors.
