021 Jesus Yes, Church No

Bunyan pictures the church as a beautiful palace on a hill. This lofty, elegant, extravagant picture of the church meets well with the importance God has placed on the church in our day. God is zealous about the church. Christ is zealous about the church. To persecute the church is to persecute Christ. How sad that in our day, so many have been involved with pseudo churches, where they think they have been involved with the true church, but have turned away in disgust. This message is for such people. It is an encouragement to see again how highly God values the church and to commit themselves to that which God loves. How unfortunate it would be to visit a friend. When his wife comes in and greets you, you say you would rather have nothing to do with her, only with her husband. What an insult to the husband and the wife. This is how it is with those who desire to have Christ, but reject the bride of Christ. May God draw many back to true commitment to the local church through this message.
