The Lord's Day

The Apostle John's use of this expression without any explanation indicates that by the time he wrote Revelation, the expression was widely understood to refer to the first day of the week as the day set apart in Christian churches for rest and worship. The practice of the early believers indicated that, as Hebrews 4:9 says, there is still a rest remaining to the people of God.
