A Call. to Sabbath-Keeping (Luke 6:1-11)

As we continue our exposition of Luke's Gospel, Jesus is once again under attack from the Pharisees who are constantly criticizing His authority (Luke 5:21), His associations (Luke 5:30) and His actions (Luke 5:33). In Luke 6:1-11, they are now criticizing Jesus for an issue about which they are most zealous: keeping the Sabbath. The Pharisees accuse Jesus and His disciples of being Sabbath breakers, but Jesus turns the argument on its head to show that, despite more than 1,000 rules about how to keep the Sabbath, they are the true Sabbath breakers.
