The Better Sacrifice of the New Covenant

The sacrifices of animals under the Old Covenant accorded with God's directive that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins." Yet this blood was only provisional until the blood of the Son of God was shed on Calvary's cross which truly and completely put away sins forever because of the infinite value of the One who was offered up: Jesus Christ our Lord.
