Abraham was blessed by Melchizedek and paid tithes to him, showing that Melchizedek is superior to Christ. Hence, Christ, being a priest after the order of Melchizedek is greater than Abraham, and greater than Levi the great-grandson of Abraham. Hence, the Levitical priesthood passed away with all its law, at the coming of Christ.
