Q8. How does God execute His decrees?
A8. God executes His decrees in the works of creation and providence.

God carries out His plans, purposes, & the counsel of His own will in two ways: the work of creation & the work of providence. God's work of creation is explained in Catechism 9-10, & His works of providence are explained in Catechism 11-12. So, in order to understand Catechism 8, we'll look 1st at God's creative acts in examining C atechism 9-10; & then, later we'll look at His providential acts by examining Catechism 11-12.

What do we mean when we say "God's work of creation?"

Q9. What is the work of creation?
A9. The work of creation is God's making all things from nothing, by the Word of His power, in six normal consecutive days, and all very good.
