The Arrest of John the Baptist

Herod had many complicated relationships in life. He sought to divorce his wife, so he could marry the wife of his brother; who was also his niece. When John the Baptist confronted them over the sin, he was arrested. While Herod clearly wanted to shut John up, he feared him and the crowds who considered John a prophet.
