Under His Wings - The Providence of God

56

Our passage this morning highlights the Providence of God, not just in our daily needs but ultimately our redemption. After being introduced to the main character of this chapter, Boaz (: 1), we find out that Ruth "happened" to end up in his field (:3). Unorchestrated by man, but ordained of God. Is this not the story of our lives and the Providence of God? Things seem to just happen, yet the course is shaped by wise, unseen hands. We tend not to really know all that much about the course our lives will take. As John Flavel said, "Providence, like Hebrew letters, must be read backwards."
