Opening The Eyes Of The Blind

It is on the way to his passion and death in Jerusalem that Christ performed this final miracle. Unlike the rich young ruler, this poor blind beggar could only cry out for mercy and it was he that received what he sought. Christ calls those who know and confess that they are poor, wretched and blind; whose only hope is the mercy of God in Christ. The outline of the sermon is as follows:
I. On the way to Jerusalem (and death at the hands of the blind)
II. “Son of David, have mercy on me”
III. “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole”
