Enjoy the Gift and the Giver

We often pray, "Lord we thank You for who You are, not just for what You give us." How proper is it for us to pray this way? How much in danger are we of making an idol of His gifts or of praying selfishly for these gifts? Please listen for ways that our motives can be tested and our faith strengthened in enjoying God through enjoying His gifts!
