As qualifications for the priesthood are set forth it seems that what is especially in view is the qualification of the high priest sympathizing with those he represents (4:15, 5:2, 5:7-8). 5:1-4 identify qualifications for the Aaronic/Levitical priesthood. 5:5-10 (beginning, "So also Christ") assert that Christ meets these qualifications. Four observations about the passage (5:1-10) are made and 5:1-4 are expounded.
