How New Is The New Covenant?

As Jesus addressed the question from the disciples of John on fasting, He taught using three word pictures. Two of those word pictures involved a new patch on an old garment, and new wine in old wineskins. This passage teaches that the forms of the Old Covenant were never intended to be permanent, and under the New Covenant, they are obsolete.
