The Presence of God

Whose presence are we really in ?

Isaiah's vision of the LORD
-At a time of sorrow and loss
-He was granted this vision as he went to the temple to worship GOD

No one can stand in the presence of GOD without being overwhelmed by
-His Glory -Mine eyes have seen the King
-Our Sins -His eyes have seen me

Isaiah sees himself in comparison with Holy GOD
-Isaiah didn't like what he saw in himself

The first instinct is to run from GOD

The second reaction is that of Isaiah
-To confess your guilt
(you are caught red handed)

GOD took care of Isaiah's sin

His throne
-A throne of judgment
But also
-A throne of grace

Isaiah was sent out as a witness

The message was that God Who had softened Isaiah's heart can harden ours
