The Holy Spirit of Promise

The Holy Spirit was promised in the Old Testament. Joel 2:28 was quoted by Peter on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:16f). He was promised by God the Father. In Luke 24:49, Jesus referred to "the promise of my Father" and the coming of the Spirit. Jesus promised the soon coming of the Spirit in John 14:16-17. He presently abides within the redeemed.
