Holiness and Fear

161

If you have not come to saving faith it is only a possibility and you have felt yourself repelled by the Holy flame and the heat of the demand of God's pure and holy presence but at the same time you are drawn to the light as well. God has set eternity in your hearts and they were meant to cradle this flame. How do you come? You are a Christian. You have been made holy through Jesus Christ. You are a temple of God's presence. How do you come now in heart and mind before this Holy God to worship and serve and live before Him? What is the attitude for each or both persons? The Bible tells us… not once or twice but over and over… Listen to some of these verses and tell me if you don't find the word that describes the attitude to begin with…
Isaiah 8:13 - But the Lord of hosts, him you shall honor as holy. Let him be your fear and let him be your dread.
Revelation 15:4 - Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy.
Psalm 5:7 - But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
Psalm 96:9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
