The All-Effectual Sacrifice

The many sacrifices of the countless priests of the multiplied centuries never took away one sin. In fact, they were "a shadow of good things to come". Contrarily, Christ took away all the sin of all God's elect at one time, as the apostle said, "for this he did once when he offered up himself". This one, all-complete, all-sufficient, all-efficient, and all-effectual sacrifice was all God required to forgive and justify.
