Do not be Afraid

181

The main point of this section of John 6 is that Jesus declares Himself the Son of God through the events that occurred when He sent His disciples into a storm, walked on water, calmed the storm and transported them to their destination of safety. Jesus comforts and corrects them saying, 1. Be of good cheer. 2. I am with you. 3. Do not be afraid. The result: they believe Jesus is God, as indicated in Matthew’s record of this incident in Matthew 14, The disciples in the boat worship Jesus saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” v33. The question is, what kind of belief do you possess? For Jesus said, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24
