Introduction to John's Gospel

Exegesis: Because of Christ's deity, I may be redeemed. His co-eternality in the Godhead secures my immortality (v. 1a), and His co-equality in the Godhead secures my atonement (vv. 1b-2). Because of Christ's mediation, I may be reborn, since He is the conduit of every reality (v. 3a), including all new creation (v. 3b). Because of Christ's incarnation, I may be resurrected. Life and light speak of the Spirit's regeneration of me (v. 4), which is unquenchable and unattainable by those in the flesh (v. 5).
