Big Idea: Desperation is necessary for spiritual freedom.

We are driven to desperation by:

A perfect standard. (vs. 12-14)
Question: Is Paul speaking of his pre-conversion
experience or is this his dilemma as a beliver?

A painful reality. (vs. 15-20)
Out of control. (vs. 15-16)
Unable to change. (vs. 17-18)
Ruled by sin. (vs. 19-20)
