Permineralized Dinosaur Bones? I thought this was a lecture on Genesis 15. Well

340

Our pastor is going to go back and revisit last week's lecture. He's calling this “A Repletion of a Previous Beginning”. Will I, your anointed deliverer of short lecture descriptions, use that for the title? No. Are you kidding? Who would listen to this lecture if I did that? And, if you have read any of my previous descriptions and titles, you have already figured out that I am neither brief nor anointed. Long winded and annoying... okay, I'll give you that.

Now he's talking about Christians talking about dinosaurs. His point? The Bereans would test what Paul would tell them with the Scripture, Acts 17:11. So, this section is about permineralized dinosaur bones. I know... you're wondering what this has to do with Genesis 15? Nothing. Our Governor, at the time of this recording, was Sara Palin, and she was asked about dinosaurs. We admire her for the great things she has done for this state and more, but she didn't have a good answer to the question. So, our pastor is helping us out with what to say when you are asked about this subject.

But alas, we must get back to Genesis 15. So, we start with Leviticus 16 of course. Why? Genesis 15 leads us to the ashes of the Red Heifer. And now we need to revisit the two goats from last week. This is the goat for YHVH and the goat for Azazel. Are we lost yet? If you are, I would suggest going back to the last few lectures. Will you? Probably not, so I'll give you a hint: Genesis 15 is all about salvation. These animals are all sacrificial and they are all a picture of Jesus Christ who sacrificed Himself for all of us.

Thank you for listening in spite of the silly things I write. Right now, our pastor needs your prayers.
