Is Soul Winning Biblical?

194

"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." 2 Timothy 4:1,2 (KJV)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we will be taking a close look at just what 'instructions for soul winning' might be found, and compare the biblical way to the ways that it is done in our day to see if they match up. Of course, we will be 'rightly dividing' what we find to make sure that we are following the instructions for our dispensation, and not trying to jam ourselves back into the Old Testament which includes the gospels up to Jesus' death on the cross, or worse, try to place ourselves outside the Church Age and into the time of Jacob's trouble.

Yes, we want to see as many people as possible come to know the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, but we have to make sure we are doing it God's way and not by the teachings of accumulated traditions of men. Can someone get saved in 30 seconds by praying the Sinner's Prayer? They sure can because I did it that way. But that 30-second prayer came after nearly a year and a half of searching for God. If you have a 'passion for souls' like DL Moody did, then tonight's program will help you to stop doing it in the flesh, and to start doing it in alignment with the Holy Spirit of God would does indeed want all men, and women, to be saved. But God's method of doing that is much more like farming than it is the 'soul winning' as practiced in our day.
