Only Jesus Is Lord

Psalm 2, cited in Acts 4:25 and 26, describes the attitude of kings and rulers who, while placed in their positions of authority by God (Daniel 2:21) rebel to overthrow the divine oversight. When those in authority recognize God's sovereign position and submit to His laws and statutes, the governed experience freedom. When those in authority reject Him and His law, tyranny is experienced by the governed. This rebellion however, first focuses on those who fear and follow the sovereign Lord, persecuting them to silence and destroy them. Where does our current administration stand on these principles. As we celebrate another birthday of our great nation, those who submit to Christ as Lord must prepare to suffer for His sake.
