This Is My Beloved Son, Listen to Him!

The central focus of the Bible is Jesus Christ. The Law and the Prophets of the Old Testament pointed to Him. Just as the New Testament tells of His earthly life and ministry. The Mosaic Law was given to Israel under the Old Covenant. But it was never intended to give them salvation from sin. It only exposed and provoked their sinful nature, pointing to the need for a Savior. On the mount of transfiguration, Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus. But they were not His equals. Simon Peter offered to build three tabernacles, but God the Father rebuked him, saying of Christ, "This is my beloved Son, listen to Him!"
