1 Timothy 1:3-7

PRODUCING LOVE IN OUR PEOPLE!

Main Idea: We must produce love in our people.

1. We must command leaders not to teach false doctrine (3-4)
   a. Not to teach any different doctrine (3b)
   b. Nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies (4)

2. We must produce love through our preaching (5)
   a. This love comes from:
   i. A pure heart
   ii. A good conscience
   iii. A sincere faith

3. We must recognize false teachers (6-7)
   a. They swerve from these things (pure heart, good conscience, and sincere faith) (6a)
   b. They wander into vain discussion (6b)
   c. They desire to be teachers of the law (7)
   i. But do not understand what they are saying
   ii. And do not understand the things that they confidently assert

Applications
Let us love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith!
Let us recognize the “false teacher” within every one of us!
Let us produce love (love of God, love of neighbor) in those around us!
