Rekindling The Goodness Of God When Your Prayer Life Has Grown Cold

123

If you've been saved for any length of time, you know the powerful presence of Almighty God in your life, flooding your body, mind and soul with His boundless love and goodness. There is no greater experience in this life than to be connected with the God of the Universe. But it is also likely by now you've also experienced those times when He seems a million miles away, and your prayers feel as powerless as a mosquito in the pouring rain.

"Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:11,12 (KJB)

On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at the life of the believer in Jesus Christ, the power we have in prayer, and how the lives we lead can wear us down and pull us away from God. We live in a world that is constantly conspiring to dull our senses, distract our minds, and entice us to 'flowery beds of ease' instead of a life consecrated to the One who saved us. When this happens, we must needs, like Pilgrim in John Bunyan's masterwork, retrace our footsteps and get back in at the place where we fell out. It is here where we turn our gaze to the blinding, white-hot light of the love of God, that is the beacon to light our way back home.
