Summary: Following a pattern common to men and nations, Solomon’s faithfulness led to greatness under God’s blessing, his greatness led to openness, and his openness led to unfaithfulness.

C. Demonstrated by the Building of the Temple.

II. God’s Blessing Led to Solomon’s Greatness.
A. Solomon’s Kingdom.
B. Solomon the King.

III. Solomon’s Greatness Led to Openness.
A. The World at His Door.
B. The World in His Heart.

IV. Solomon’s Openness Led to Unfaithfulness.
A. Openness Other Nations.
B. Openness Other Wives.
C. Openness to Other Gods.

Conclusion: Principle = Great blessing carries great responsibility.
